It’s become our tradition to feature some of our best content from the year ending in the week between Christmas and New Years. Not to blow our horn too much, but here has been so much excellent content that it’s a challenging task to pick.
Please note: there’s no specific criteria or ranking; it’s just a stab at picking one or two of the best posts by our more active contributors. And I’ve mostly skipped November and December, as they’re so recent. All of our terrific COALs this year will have one post on Saturday, with links to the rest of their series.
It’s been another remarkable year at CC, and reposting all of this superb content makes me realize how lucky we are to have such superb contributors. Thank you all.
I’d have to suggest RLPlaut’s series as being my pick!
I agree, certainly the most enjoyable feature of the year.
Yes, by a landslide, with no disrespect to our other fine contributors.
When I shut down my Macintosh at night, it gives me the option (which I always take) of having it reopen all windows in all apps when I next boot it up. So CC is right there for me next morning, as are several other sites I follow.
I agree completely. I thoroughly enjoyed this series.
Thank you Mr. Niedermeyer (et.al.) for another year of a site that I look forward to reading every day!
My favorite this year was probably Don Andreina’s incredibly comprehensive history of the SUV, at least for historical content, obscure pictures, and fascinating minutiae, and sure enough, I now see it’s been reposted as the first “Best of”. Looking forward to rereading some great stuff!
Nice job with the graphic Paul!
rlplaut’s series were some of the most epic articles I’ve ever read! So count me as another one.
But sincerely, everyone writes great stuff. Every COAL is a great read, and the CCs from diverse points of the world that come from, between others, Mr. Saur (BTW, have you already driven the new 5 series? What do you say?); Mr. Stopford, or Dhr. Johannes…
Heck, I find myself looking at the numerous Opel Corsas, Kia Cee’ds and Renault Clios on the roads of my country and wanting to write about them!
So 2016 came to a point where I encouraged myself to comment after a year reading. And the general politeness and depth of knowledge here just cement my opinion that this is the best auto blog around.
Cheers to all CC’ers
What happened to the super curbside classic of the 1965 Chevrolet? I get the dreaded ‘
