…I’m going to postpone the CC Junkyard Finale to Wednesday. But let’s not forget to honor the labors of those who made all those junkers as well as all the memorable cars in our life, including this unforgettable tractor-trailer combination. Enjoy the day; now where is my paintbrush?
In Honor Of Labor Day…

Yikes!!! It still has the matching exhaust pipes, with nothing to exhaust.
I think you’ve got a posting bug, there’s a broken link to a .tiff above the photo.
Are you trying to make me work more today? 🙂 Fixed
What exactly is a TIFF anyway? Not very useful for my purposes.
I certainly wouldn’t want to get into a tiff….but .tiff is a picture file format. Maybe the original of that photo was a .tiff. In fact on my iPod Touch browser the link worked and there were two photos there. Thanks for the fix.
Zowie. A trailer with as little utility as the car that pulls it.
I kinda like it, makes me think of the John Anderson song “Your Love’s Better Than Money In the Bank.” He mentions a “bass boat and a Z28” in the song and in the music video the two where hitched together (as if you would pull your bass boat with your Z28.)
Dan, I haven’t thought about that song in years! Hey, if you’re gonna talk about implausible scenarios with Country songs, how ’bout Brooks & Dunn’s “Red Dirt Road”, where Ronnie sings about his “shackled-up GTO”…maybe I’m missing something here but I thought spring shackles only worked with leaf springs! If you wanted to jack up a coil-spring rear end (and you were a broke teenager) you used rubber blocks inbetween the coils…and the only GTO with leaf springs was the 1974 because it was on the leaf-sprung X-body!
Funny…my youngest son’s dream car is a ’75 ‘Vette like the one in the picture. At least I know he wouldn’t kill himself with the 145 HP they offered that year…
4 seater Vette I bet the ride in the back half could get pretty wild hangin the trailer out on turns
I’ve seen numerous cars at car shows where they made a trailer from the trunk of an identical car, but I guess if you made a trailer from just the trunk of a Vette it would be just as useless as the trunk of the Vette itself. 🙂
With the wheel so far back, there would be a lot of weight on the tongue if you actually loaded-up that trailer. That could do some interesting, and dangerous, things to the handling of the car.
