The Toyota pick-up truck’s popularity by insurgents and other para-military groups has long been established. But they usually don’t bother to actually create an actual military look. Here’s how it’s done, in case anybody wants to know. And I thought Eugene was so pacifist…
but then this HiLux dates back to the mid seventies, when the dying embers of the revolution where still being nursed. Only one gets to sit, though.

People’s Republic of Eugene Home Guard?
Is this the model that miscreants get belted into then gets driven round while the populace throws rotten fruit?
My favorite part of that whole vehicle is the fact that the pieces welded to the roof look like they are the remnants of an old futon frame. That’s priceless!
I do like the box on the back. Looks quite good for a homemade replacement. The seat in there is just icing on the cake.
That futon frame is a rather odd choice.
I would drive that every. single. day. and love it. Oh how I lament that there are no new trucks like this, and Mahindra’s LIES UPON LIES never help.
Missing the .50 cal in the back, but otherwise perfect. So how many rebels is it rated to carry through the streets with rocket launchers and rifles on board?
