This is a shot of a workshop linked to a classic car business in south west France. Clearly, some have been there longer than others, but which car would like to have completed for your arrival?
By my reckoning, from left to right, front to back, you have a choice of
Alfa Romeo GTV, with racing roll cage
Jaguar Mk 8
Triumph Dolomite, in rare LHD form
Jaguar XK150 Fixed Head Coupe
Another white XK140/150, partly under a white cover
A red something under a red cover
Fiat Dino Coupe
Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Series 1, with very French yellow headights
Datsun 240Z
AC Cobra
So, the QOTD is in 2 parts – which car would you ask to be completed first by the workshop, and what is the red car under the red cover?
Why, the Rolls should be completed first, of course! 🙂 And a series 1 at that. See how it hovers above the other cars already? It’s a Rolls, for Heaven’s sake, you can’t let it just stand there and gather dust…
2nd question – no idea. But if it is a DS cab, let me know!
I’d fix the Dino first.
And I’m seeing the red car under the red cover as an early Porsche 911
I was planning on the Dino as well…….
…..and thought the mystery cat might be a Renault Alp[ine A310…
That’s a beautiful car.
That Rolls looks spooky with those yellow lights. Almost like an exotic large cat!
Are yellow headlights even legal in USA? Would one get into trouble using them?
the answer is a definite “maybe.”

AC Cobra by a mile, being green makes it even sweeter.
Myself, I’ll take the 240Z. I’m not sure what’s under the cover, but I’ll guess that it’s a Porsche…in which case, I’ll take it as a backup in case they can’t get the Z running in time.
Cobra, Roller, Alfa, and then the Fiat Dino, just for the pure masochistic pain of a Dino.
Definitely the Dino first. That model Royce of that age is a waste of space. The Cobra is worth fixing IF it’s the real deal, but what are the odds ?
What would I like at home in Oregon? I’d choose the 240Z. Lily had a GTV6 which was wonderful on a sunny day but perpetually fogged-up all winter. Italian cars were meant for Italian weather. I’d like that 240Z’s inline six.
But you asked what I’d like at my arrival in SW France. In that case it’s the Dino please, for the French Riviera. We could pretend we were 1960s movie people on our way to Cannes. Or that we were in “The Italian Job”.
If that’s an AC wouldn’t it be an AC Ace then instead of a Cobra?
Since nobody’s claimed it yet I’d like to complete the XK150 coupe. A nice gentleman’s express for me, although these seem to be pretty terrifyingly expensive to restore.
Just to mix it up a bit the red car under the tarp is an AMC pacer.
I’d fix the Datsun first so I’d have something reliable to run around in while collecting parts for the other cars.
There are three pipes on the exhaust manifold visible in the “Cobra” engine bay and the mounting plate is vertical so I would guess that it is an AC Ace, or perhaps a Cobra replica with an inline 6cyl (surely someone has done it, but an unlikely to be one)
I’d go for XK140 or Datsun, followed by the Alfetta.
If I an keeping these cars for fun, I would fix whatever that is the easiest fix so I will have more cars to enjoy.
If I need to fix these cars for resale, then probably fix whatever has the highest value. Probably the Jag XKs or the Cobra (if it’s not a replica).
