This car was all new in 71 used a Camaro floorpan an Aussie styled 2 door and 4 door bodies Wagonan Statesman shared a longer wheelbase while utes an panelvans had a full length BOF set GM Hs first Engines went from 173 or 202 cube 6 just stroked earlier blocks Holdens 253 or 308 V8 was available as was a Chev 350. These cars sold like beer at a barbie. My father was with the NZ dealer trip to view these cars prerelease he signed up for a wagon right then. Strangely the NZ dealers were left with their cameras wherever the went so some of us kids had seen the new cars prerelease too and of course my family had the only HQ wagon in the country for a little while till assembly started.
