Some of our current COAL (Cars Of A Lifetime) series are coming to an end in the next few days, so it’s time to find some new COALers. Should you need a reminder, our ongoing COAL section is CC’s door to the cars our readership has lived with; a chance to open up our site to a multitude of voices and experiences. And remember, it isn’t about how many cars you’ve had, or how unique they may have been. It’s about sharing your experiences.
If interested, send us an email at curbsideclassic@gmail.com, and include a list of the cars you wish to write about. We also do random COALs, and are always in the look out for new contributors. So if you have a couple of cars you’d like to write up, let us know too.
We are the original owners of a 1993 240 SX convertible with about 34,000 miles. Due to my military career, the car bought from Nissan of Vacaville (CA) went on our journey to several states. It’s exceptionally clean and thanks to my wife, has survived many trade in threats.
It’s good that you still have it considering how rare the 240SX convertible was. The lack of a manual transmission (which was possibly due to Voluntary Import Restrictions still in effect at the time) didn’t help sales or performance (0-60 mph in 10.6 seconds according to MotorWeek) either.
However, if it were my money, a 5.0 litre Ford Mustang LX Convertible would be what I would’ve selected due to its better performance/$ ratio.
I just need to build a little more confidence, dig out what photographs I can find, smarten up my American English and I’ll be in touch.
