I was well finished with Tractor Weekend (I hope I didn’t OD you all), but then as I was closing my pictures file, my eye suddenly caught a discordant green glint coming from that air filter jar, where the heavy particles drop. What could that be?
Yes, the rivalry between red and green in the tractor world was at least or more intense as between Ford, Chevy and Mopar guys.
I was sure it was a grasshopper till I saw the zoom. Hilarious!
Thanks for the tractor show. I’m a city kid, but when I was little there was a Ford tractor parked in the schoolyard. Seeing the whole power train, engine, gearbox, rear end and all the other bits, all naked like that showed me how a car was built inside. Chassis too. Very educational.
My father (the John Deere salesman) would prefer to see it the other way. Although he has admitted a weakness for old Fordson tractors just cause they’re so ubiquitous and technically he could justify it if he could find one with a “belly mower” on it and claim to my mother that it would allow him to more quickly mow our 4 acre property.
I think the best tractor pull(s) in Oregon is the Pottsville Antique Tractor Show over Father’s Day weekend. Pottsville is just north of Grants Pass.
