Back in July, I attended the 2015 Monmouth Car Show in Monmouth, Illinois. Having taken several hundred pictures, and giving a lot of attention to various automotive details, the article would have been crazy long. What to do???
Think of this video as a virtual car show – you get to see all the good stuff without the heat, mosquitos, and noise. Sit back and enjoy.
Very nice. Most of the pictures were good with the movie on full screen on my 27 inch monitor.
Nice Job!
I attended the show as well. I even saw Big Enos with his 1974 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, but he looked taller in the movie… 🙂
The suspension on the Cadillac has undoubtedly sunk some in forty years. However, Big Enos looks like he’s smelled some bad Coors in that picture.
I think he was upset that someone swiped his hat.
Nice montage. Loved seeing the LeMans Sprint.
Thanks for a job well done. I wish the cars all had their hoods closed.
Nice work Jason!
Great show with a great soundtrack. Thanks for sharing!
+1.
Very nice. I hear both that silver 68 Chrysler 300 and its older Fluid Driven brother calling me.
The 65 Newport convertible has to be mentioned too….
Very Nice Slide Show Jason… Love the use of the song “Driver’s Seat”… haven’t heard that one in a while.
The Chevelle Laguna S-3 (at the 2:14 mark) brings back some memories.
They built those here in Baltimore at GM’s Broening Highway Assembly Plant. I was a 13 year old kid when we got to tour that facility in late 1973 or early 1974, and that’s exactly what they were building that day, right down to the color (that may’ve been the only color that they came in if memory serves).
This was the second time I got to tour that factory. The first time was even more special; when I was 9 in the year 1969. That day, one of the most iconic muscle cars ever was rolling off of the assembly line: the 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS with the 396. It was fun watching the guys at the end of the line show off their power as the rolled off the line, doing smokey burnouts the whole way. (Well, all except for the one they couldn’t get started. The guys pushed that one to a parking space to be inspected.)
Prior to this plant’s demise (I think the site is some sort of Amazon Distribution Center now), they were building Astro-Vans. While not to disrespect that popular vehicle, this was a letdown compared to those amazing Chevelles.
Driver’s Seat by Sniff N The Tears!!! Great song!
I’ll take the Starsky and Hutch Torino!
Outstanding! Great song selection, too. So many cars that grabbed my attention – the ’73 Ranchero, ’74 Laguna S-3, a mint ’79 or ’80 Pinto Runabout (What?? Wow!), ’70 loop-bumper Dodge Charger. And then the two, ’73 Colonnades – the Olds 4-4-2 and the Buick GS Stage 1.
I think you’ve stumbled onto something here, Jason – this was a really cool, effective way of showcasing finds at a show.
Great work Jason, and good choice of music too
So many great cars, it must have difficult to choose, and I can’t claim to recognize anything like all of them, so my choice might be red Bullet Bird. But, as I watch it again, I can guarantee I’ll choose something else.
Nice video, great cars. Like the sound track as well.
