I remember these from the pages of 4WD & Off-Road magazine. The smaller pic of the yellow one reminded me of a Mini-Moke which I had first seen in reruns of I Spy on a retro-tv channel of the time
I think when you get to the point that multiple companies are modifying your product at huge expense then it becomes clear there is some market demand. The same thing happened with the gladiator. I see TJ converted pickups fairly regularly .
Someone mentioned the Dakar concept. There was also a 3 row hardtop wrangler at SEMA this year. As some one has said in the past it’s surprising a steel hardtop and 3 row wrangler haven’t been factory options (going after the 4runners market which it’s currently all alone in.)
A 30″ stretch would make it almost identical in length and only a bit longer in WB than the JK and JL Unlimiteds. The copy-paste doors remind me of the ’60s Dodge crew cab pickups.
Great find. With half doors or doorless, it looks fine. With the full doors and the hard top in place, it looks really weird.
It reminds me of “panoramic photos gone wrong”.

There was also this 1997 Jeep Dakar concept vehicle based on a Wrangler.
Those rear doors look a bit tight to get in and out of.
Not a new idea by 2K. I saw the Jeep Dakar concept at the Detroit show in 97.

A lot of the styling used on the Dakar concept later was used on the Liberty.
