There’s nothing I like better in an old photo than to see both the vehicle and its owner or driver. This is a great shot, and it reminds me how truck technology evolves in a somewhat consistent pattern everywhere.
What I mean is that this type of bed with its wood body and tarpaulin cover is exactly like the ones that are still plying the roads of developing countries all over the globe.

Nice photo of the 41 Chevrolet…I really like the driver/owner? standing beside it in his pressed Khakis…what a cool truck…and kinda amazing how small the rear view mirror on the drivers door is and the rear tire looks almost bald….
Probably during wartime, rubber in shrt spply. 🙂
Between the heavy canvas tarp and tying the ropes with knots, covering that load must have been hard work. The invention of the ratchet strap probably helped truckers as much as turbo-diesels and air suspension.
Nice Chevy 4 wheeler, chrome grill so a post war truck rope tiedowns on the Chevy that other one has bungees, heaps easier.
