Andy said: “If I win the lottery, I’d have this built for me”. I can see why.
What were its main parts donors?
A ’64 Imperial at the front and windscreen, ’60 Imperial LeBaron rear roof and fins, Cordoba wheel arches and ’55 Imperial wheels. And a bit of artistic license.
And those probably would have sold as well as the Continental did in ’56…
It troubles me that I like this.
👍
Perfect!
The perfect car for when Bruce Wayne goes out on the town.
Exactly my thoughts, “Alfred, fire up the Imperial, we’re going out tonight!”
I’d take one, if I were 5’6″.
@Andy, excellent work and convincing. I would consider copyrighting it. You never know. Just curious, how many layers did you end up with prior to flattening the image.
I didn’t see any Cordoba in this at all – those wheel arches scream 1955 Imperial to me.
More intriguing than beautiful. But then Chrysler put a lot of those kinds of designs in showrooms, too.
I agree on the wheel arches being from the ’55 Imperial. For some strange reason I have always liked the looks of the ’55 even though it is the type of car that I would never buy.
I actually like this concept. Maybe it is the wheel arches, who knows?
As a former (reformed?) Brougham Fan, and the fact I still pine for Personal Luxury Coupes like a T-Bird, or in this case, a Cordoba, I could SO see myself enjoying driving around in this one!
Nice work, Andy, and thanks for sharing, Paul.
If there really was a Cordoba built in that period THIS would be it, minus the turbine.
Maybe I can make one for myself. I have some old. unbuilt AMT car models in 1-25th scale, so………………………………….
Great car for showing up at vintage auto shows. More guys would be salivating over this. Love the artwork and design. No, I really do not want one. As for the remark about “If I were 5′ 6″,” well, I used to be and at two inches less, having shrunken, this car would do me just fine. Convincing my wife to go anywhere in it would be another problem.
If you build it, I’ll pay for a tank full of gasoline plus lunch if I get to ride in it…..

No, No, No, No, No, No, particularly the rear wheel openings.
But then my taste has always been suspect.
Everything is very well resolved. The issue for me are the rear tailfins. They will forever be associated with 50’s American flamboyant car design. They just clash. I’ve seen many designs attempt to integrate tailfins on newer models but they just don’t work. Admittedly that’s my own mental block. Shave those fins down to the trunk and now we’re talking awesome.
Most importantly. Keep your interesting ideas coming.
LOVE the no fender skirt look, sometimes they can make a car too bulky/heavy. That roofline is sexy as hell too.
Id have to lose the rear fins though, the rest of the car looks mid 60’s modern with the clean sides, the fins are very googie/50s. Maybe redo the quarter panels with a bit of a kick up near the rear c pillar. Make rear quarters sublty bulge outwards, push the rear wheels outwards to where the rear track is maybe an inch to two inches wider than the front track. You know how GM did that “coke bottle” shape on mid 60s Pontiacs and Impala coupes
I love the idea of the early ’60s Cordoba being an Imperial, and it tempts me to ‘shop a Neon Cordoba to complete the name-debasement trilogy.
