For all that these things are simply Neons with a different body, they certainly captured the imaginations of a lot of people. Along with Miatas, they are one of the few modern cars that have spawned one-marque car clubs.
Count me in among the PT aficionados. I’ve liked every single iteration of this vehicle (and the similar Chevy HHR), right from the very beginning. Someday I hope to buy this car. The spare-wheel on back works for me too, but only if its a genuine wheel. Looks good on this vehicle. Maybe I’m biased towards the raised prow and flying fenders look.
Is it just me or does the back of that abomination look like the front of an old VW bus?
Or is in an Airflow PT?

Or is it the latest shameless attempt to bring back the Exner-era Imperial? If it comes with pushbutton shifting, I may have to consider one. 🙂
He needs to buy the available ($4-600?) chrome bumper add-ons to complete the look.
I have seen a few PTs with those chrome bumpers, and they do set that car off!
Really makes it look great.
If you squint really hard and lean back a bit it almost looks like a Bustle Back!
Needs the “woodie” kit. 😛
My favorite mod for the PT Cruiser is when they turned one into a Wood Chipper on Monster Garage.
+1

“Neons with a different body”
Don’t say that to a “Neon Guy”. Them’s fightin words to most of that group!
Somewhat off topic, I don’t get why so many people don’t like the PT. It wasn’t really a bad “truck”. The PT GT was really pretty darn good.
Call me crazy, but I like the PT, and that “spare wheel” bootlid works for me too… Maybe I should get out more often…!
A continental kit makes everything look better.

Or a Chrysler PT Zimmer!
