That’s very surprising from what I’ve read about these. Old and beat up possibly? Granted I only really pay attention to the Sport these days, and your Xsara is a high bar to match, I will say that.

This was in 07 it was the service writers work car at my local Peugeot Citroen Suzuki dealership and it was a 06 car I had a 2.1 TDI 406 Peugeot in for repairs I was warned it was gutless when I took it but I was unprepared for the awfull way it drove, most of the reviews only concern the 2.0 SX4 model which is the flagship not the cheap n cheerful 1300/1500 cars, the car was in mint condition and yes certainly no match for the Xsara.
It has been a very long time, but there was a time when you could see a similar scene in the U. S. Now, finding any small car, much less a 2 door hatchback, is impossible. However, finding a raised SUV or more importantly a raised pickup truck of any kind is supremely easy.
And it’s unfortunate for us small car lovers but just as Suzuki started building some really good cars, the company exited the U. S. market.
I’ve always admired the Suzuki Swift from afar; European reviews say pretty much every generation has very poised dynamics, and the Sport model is a genuinely good car. The new for 2018 Swift Sport is especially appealing to me. 1.4 turbocharged BoosterJet motor making 138 horsepower and 162 lb feet of torque in a body that only weighs 2150 pounds. With a real 6-speed manual. Easily dispatches 0-60 in under 7 seconds. I would vastly prefer this over a Mini Cooper, and it’s lots cheaper to boot (and that’s not even considering reliability yet).
I’m with you, this would be on my short list for a new car. Perfect city car. And now that we moved to a new place with a 3 car garage, even the Mini’s a little wide to try to maneuver in there. As it is, if we don’t get another Mini (SORRY BRENDAN) we might end up with a Honda HR-V which is shockingly close in many dimensions (only an inch wider than the Mini.)
I love the low one. The black paint really works. Is it a Suzuki?
2006 Suzuki Swift 1.3 (92 DIN-hp).
I had one as a loaner, I’d sure as hell never buy one with actual money the handling is pathetic.

Just curious, where do you live?

Bryce, you seem to be confusing the Swift with the larger (and less well-received) SX4. There is no 2.0 Swift.
Swift came in SX4 guise here anyway a guy I worked with had one he claimed it was 2.0 maybe it wasnt
No, they didn’t. Two different cars.
