Looks perfect for running the bootleg Schnapps through the Black Forest. One could envision a whole race series starting from such a type of undertaking…
I am decades past driving fast and showing off, but for some reason I want to get in this car and hoon all day.
I irrationally love the hell out of it.
My nephew (who is almost my age) was given a 57 Mercedes convert (white with red leather interior as his first car. One of a very few Mercedes that ever impressed me. Unfortunately, an accident damaged it beyond reasonable $$ repair. Fortunately (though a convert) it prevented serious injuries to him!
Dutch Bootlegger or Moonshiner was also my first thought. Oversized tires, beefed up suspension and shoehorn in the biggest engine that fits. Looks almost identical to this this pre NASCAR bootlegger. Very cool find.
I like it I used to see a similar model regularly in western Sydney that had a rumble as it went past, to fit in with the widened steelies a 351 Cleveland was under the bonnet,
I had the Matchbox version of this car. IIRC, the doors opened.
Long lost in my Dads back yard under the fig tree.
“First Matchbox model ever to feature opening doors”

Looks perfect for EXBRO. I wish…
Der Stuttgarter Mondschein Läufer?
Perhaps the only Mercedes (non-SUV) ever fitted with Toyo Open Country A/T tires. Raised white letters out, no less. Other than that, I like it!

Perfect summary!

Sweet ;
I’d love to have one of these but $$! .
They’re really thirsty too .
Until you can no longer drive safely it’s still fun to drive _quickly_ ~ I do this all the time and many say I drive fast but I don’t .
I’m just having fun , what this car was made for .
