Wow. Hot and hotter. The E24 would be my choice for daily duty, but that E9 may be the most attractive BMW design to ever roam the streets. Sorry, 507, but I’ll take the coupe.
Lovely, looks like it was maybe taken in London. I had a chance to nab a 635CSi a long time ago, but I’d only had a 528i for six months and with me being 21 years old the insurance was astronomical! Still regret turning it down though…
I am (slowly) working on a CC for a 3.0 CS that I photographed last month, and I’ve been thinking that the E9 coupe is one of the few truly beautiful cars that was replaced by an equally appealing car. This picture really confirms how spectacular both cars were.
My prediction is that the sharknose models will be coveted a la 911 Porsche in the near future. There just happens to be a complete and running example with a sign in it over on Alberta. The big coupe is surprisingly agile when equipped with decent rubber and appropriate damping. While $20k is a lot of money to most, that amount will get you a six cylinder two door car – completely gone through – with five speeds, reasonable economy and many smiles per mile. As that columnist on another site is always barking – for base Fiesta money you get a classic. Plus, my experience was once you sorted the gremlins out, keeping it going was simple and cheap. Well, kind of cheap.
CC effect strikes again! I’m in Blackpool for the Rebellion punk festival and I found 3 CSIs rusting away near the north station. My all time favourite BMW
Lucky double BMW owner. I hope Decampos happened upon this shot while out for a Sunday drive in his 65 Corvair.
Wow, two variations on the same theme, from different generations… Two CSis, representing.
Great pic.
*Swoon*

Thanks for noticing 🙂
You get a freebee: you may misspell my name once. 😉

+1 I’ll have one as a DD and the other for weekends.

I doubt cheap, but rewarding and eventually lucrative has the ranks thin. I am not seeing as many used up ones lately.

Hope the shark doesn’t bite the coupes nose off.
I often wondered why BMW never went back to the Sharknose-ed grille theme.
Is it because of safety / protection ?
Cant be because of aerodynamics. They have other means today to lower the drag coefficient, havent they?
Pedestrian impact regulations prohbit forward-canted noses these days (among many other things).
what about this Chris M. ?
Heilige Scheiße ! What a beauty !
Niceness x 1000
Looks a lot better than the ugly blobs their pooping out, nowadays.
I think that just might work, as the undercurve is gentle and the main surface of the nose is flat. Absolutely amazing concept!
