No, I didn’t find this in Eugene, but I wouldn’t have been surprised if I had. In yesterday’s 1953 Ford CC, I waxed on about its lovely posterior. I’ve felt fondly about it since I first encountered it as a wee lad, and some years ago I bought a framed hand-tinted photo of a ’53 Ford butt. It’s a very basic affair really, but with such nice rounded curves. I could think of a whole slew of more overt, complex and blatantly suggestive car rear ends I’ve encountered over the years and rattle off a long list, but I guess the ’53 Ford rump has a special place…on my office wall, anyway. I’ll show you another shot, if you’ll share your favorite:
Tatra T-87 for me
My eyes. I will never be able to unsee that thing. Make it go away.
No! I said I wanted a NASCAR!

1958 Desoto
Jaguar XKE Fastback… Porsche 928, I’m trying to think of my favorite fins, 1967 Cougar… I just wish the turn signals on the dash blinked sequentially too.
Citroen DS:

I’m a little bit biased, as I have one myself. The whole car in itself is one of the most successful designs ever made. There isn’t an angle that doesn’t work. The body is like a shrink wrapped Coco Chanel draped, nipped and tucked over the technical super structure, then suitably cut with a fine scissor to make doors, fenders, and hoods.
For a variety of colors, I can recommend this site:

Another real sexy ass is the English Ginetta G33:

I’m a big fan of the 30’s boattail rear ends. Here’s a 1932 Auburn:

And perhaps my favorit of all time, the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato:

Link for the Aston goes to a 403 page.
This one should work:

Paul, I have to ask, why are my posts “awaiting moderation” ? Am I doing something wrong?
I’m not sure, but I suspect it’s the spam filter when you include links. I think your last one, this question, didn’t get held up?
Automatically generated spam comments are big problem on lots of sites, although they haven’t found CC yet. Let me see if it’s possible to “vet” a certain commentator. Sorry about that.
No problems. It’s just frustrating when you don’t know why it gets blocked. But I didn’t think of advertising spam on message boards, that’s a nuisance if ever there were one…
I’m tempted to trot out my favourite everything, the mid 90s FIAT Coupé:

but as I realise may well be in a minority on that one, I’d also nominate the (far more conventionally beautiful) hind quarters of a mid 60s E-Type coupe.

I’d settle for one of each… in those colours thanks 🙂
I shouldn’t say it’s my favorite, but it certainly is interesting. The only Bangle butt worth speaking of.
I would have to say the ’65 Corvair Corsa.

Most of my favourites would be late-50s fin cars, especially most Mopars, Buick and Cadillac. I like early Vettes too, before they restyled the back-end for MY1961. Ingvar reminded me that I also like 30’s boat-tails such as Auburns, which is partly why I also like the back of early 70’s Buick Rivieras.
The 05-09 Pontiac G6. Or the 95-99 version of the Pontiac Sunfire. Or my long lost 72 Olds 442. Or my other long lost car: 86 Mercury Capri 5.0 Sport Coupe. Or the car I’ve lusted after since I was a child: 68 Mercury Cougar. Or the other car I’ve lusted after since I was a child: 69 AMC AMX
Do I have to choose just one?
I always liked the boat tail Riv and then for clean understated lines the last RWD Cutlasses.
Since the previous commenters have cited most the sleek and swoopy rear ends, how about a Landrover Series IIA Station Wagon? The curved top windows flanking the door give it just a little hint of Gothic cathedral as well as one of the most distinctive shapes this side of a VW Beetle. Speaking of which the exposed “let all hang out” aesthetic of Baja Bugs and dune buggies is oddly appealing.
I would say the 1960 Porsche 356B Roadster. I like the 356B’s lines more so than the pre-A and A, though I love all the 356s.
1965 Chrysler, 1962 Continental for me.
The Porshe Cayman has similar hips to the car in the lead photo to this article. And the central placement of the exhaust on the Cayman further extends the comparison. As one author once said, if you think these design elements of the Cayman’s rear end are unintentional, you haven’t been watching enough German porn.
Paul, I have another suggestion as you are adjusting to the new website. There is a list of acceptable HTML tags listed below when you are commenting. Is it possible to add the tag so we can directly embed photos to the post? It seems to work quite well over at http://hooniverse.com/
Let me find out. I can’t imagine why not.
Oldsmobile Intrigue with factory wing and chrome exhaust finisher.
1973 Chevelle does it for me. I still miss mine dearly.(the pic isn’t mine)

E-type Jaguar of course!
I also like the Ford GT 40, and it’s later replicar. Same feminine hips as the E-type.
I know it’s a love-it-or-hate-it thing, but the ass of the ’80 to ’85 Cadillac Seville does it for me, though there is one CRITICAL requirement for it to work:
The ass end MUST sit just a tad lower than the front of the car. MUST. If the car sits level, or if the rear is higher than the front (heaven forbid,) it doesn’t work.
