At the suggestion of RetroStang Rick, we’re going to have a little impromptu Meet-Up at the Hunt Valley Horsepower weekly Saturday morning car show on August 4. Here’s the updated details:
This Cars and Coffee type event runs from 8-10AM. I’m not sure exactly when I’ll get there, but how about I hang out in front of the Iron Rooster (which is the closest restaurant) at about 8:30 to 8:45 AM, and we can then do some more of the show as a group. And afterwards we can decide where to go and socialize some more. I have until about 1:30PM before I have to head to my mom’s birthday party.
If you can’t find me/us there or are joining us a bit later, text me @ 541-5five6-57eight9. I look forward to seeing you.
Wow, my wife’s family lives about a mile from there, and I am only an hour away. We may also actually be there that day to celebrate our daughter’s birthday with them. Would love to stop by to say hi and meet you in person Paul. Hopefully it works out this time.
Ashland VA to Hunt Valley is going to be a bit of a stretch, but I’m going to try to make it. Probably need to leave in the dark to get up there by 0830.
Looking forward to meeting everyone. Hopefully, we’ll have better weather 2 Saturdays from now than we had today. It was pouring down rain.
Thanks Paul for fitting this into your busy schedule! And happy 95th to your Mom. ?
Oh, and one minor correction to the text above: The place is called the “Iron Rooster”, not the Red Rooster. If you Google the latter, you’ll find that it’s a restaurant chain in Oz on the opposite side of the planet, as opposed to a place in a Hunt Valley, Maryland. There is a little bar with pool tables and such called The Red Rooster in East Baltimore, but it’s a tiny little neighborhood establishment off of Frankford Avenue, which is no where near Hunt Valley.
I’m gonna do a little recon at next week’s Cars and Coffee (a week before our CC meet up) to get a handle on exactly where The Iron Rooster is located, but if we are to trust the Google Maps pushpin, it’ll be located on the southeast corner of the big parking are where all the cars gather….

Hope to see you all there.
Rick
I’ve been there before with family that lives close by. It is in the corner of the shopping center. Kind of a gourmet breakfast all day and comfort food kind of place. Hard to describe it. But it’s an upscale shopping center with a Wegmans and other interests. The light rail to Baltimore ends right there also. Never been to the cars and coffee event there, didnt know that there is one.
I should be able to to stop by for a while though, I had my weekends mixed up. My daughter’s party is the following weekend. I live an hour and 20 min away in Pennsylvania.
Yeah, I’m kinda lucky. It’ll take me around 25 minutes to get there on an early Saturday morning like that. I’m probably going to try to arrive at 7:30 to get a good spot inside the cones. I went there for the first time about a month ago, and got there around 8:15, and there were already a lot of cars there. I managed to get inside the cones, albeit in the upper right corner near Marshalls. Not even 3 seconds later, two more S-197(s) like mine came in, and parked next to me, along with a late model Charger. After a brief conversation, we all left our cars and walked away to see the more interesting vehicles that had already gathered there. There was everything from Honda Civics to Lamborghinis and everything in between. There were the obligatory Mustangs, Camaros, And Tri-Fives of course, but I was looking for the unusual stuff. A beautiful ‘52 Olds caught my eye, as well as this really nice Coronet and the Stude next to it….
Rats. I’m due to have surgery on Wednesday which means I won’t be on my feet until after the 4th. Maybe next time…
I wish I could make it, but we’ll be out of town that weekend. Maybe next time!
I am planning to be there with my daughter and some of my family from the area. Looking forward to it.
I should qualify this. I am likely bringing my 11 month old daughter with me, who may attend the show or.may hang out with family. So my arrival time might be a little later, but should still get there in time to see some of the show. I will call/text if I can’t find you guys.
There will be at least two CC writers at the show on Saturday, as I am also going!
And I’m afraid I’m going to have to back out. A couple of matters at home are taking precedence. Have a good time!
Sounds great — I’m planning on coming up for the morning. Looking forward to meeting some more folks from the CC community!
Have fun, you guys, sorry I can’t make the trip out!
I’m hoping to make it up.
Tag yourselves: my captures from this event including some with the Curbside Classic founder, contributors, and commenters.
I was going to try and make it but I have to be in Chesapeake, VA at 10 on Saturday morning so unfortunately I cant do it but everyone have a great time!
