Congratulations to Rob Finrock, who immediately guessed the Horizon TC3 clue. Technically, he guessed it as the twin Dodge Omni 024 (or the later Plymouth Turismo), but as the cars were largely indistinguishable, he receives full credit for his sharp eye.
We have no stripes on today’s Clue, but there should be enough features here to give it away. Hints? With panel gaps like these, it has to be before the 2000s. But then, you already knew that from the color. Good luck.
’74-’76 Chevelle Laguna S3
I am compelled to agree with you.
agreed, the louvers are a giveaway. from the color I’m going to say a 76.
1970 Mustang with the single inboard headlights…
yeah its a 74-76 Laguna Type S-3
Too easy!
I’m going to take a stab by the color & guess it’s a ’75 Laguna S-3.
Actually, that’s a 1961 Rambler Ambassador with the pioneering Weather Eye air conditioning. Because AMC also owned the kitchen appliance manufacturer Kevinator, it managed to come up with the most advanced and affordable air conditioning system of any popularly-priced car of that era.
The only problem with Weather Eye was that it required the addition of louvers on the rear-side windows. Thus the photo. In the 1970s louvers were a popular fashion statement, but in the utilitarian early-60s they were viewed as a nuisance because they got in the way of rearward visibility. So Weather Eye sales were relatively low until 1965, when AMC finally figured out a way to circulate air inside the car without the louvers.
