LAx was first out of the gate with the ’62 Chrysler, although in fairness, he also named about every other canted-headlight car out there. But the Judges have ruled that he was sufficiently sincere, and is therefore declared the winner, mainly because nobody else got it exactly right either.
Here is another chance for redemption. And no, we will NOT count as a winner a list of every car that came in green.
1969 GMC or Chevy Suburban.
Jeep Cherokee SJ in US Forest Service Green, four-door, circa 1983. A not-uncommon sight in Oregon.
Looks like the 70s Suburban I used to ride in at my West Texas kindergarten: The Little Folks Dude Ranch. (yeah, no kidding)
Yep, and true to the CC, it was indeed a three door…even at 5 I thought that was dumb.
International Harvester Travelall
Early 70’s Wagoneer
uh oh- the curvature of the side does look more like a 68-72 suburban
That green on tan color combo appeared on so many Forest Service vehicles…I’ve seen rigs from every manufacturer in those colors. Having googled what I thought was the answer, I’ll refrain from commenting on the guesses above, one of which I believe to be correct.
As usual, I missed the ’62 Chrysler clue in spite of having owned one. Half an inch down on the fender would have done it….
Hell I found the original photo and got it wrong.
Jeep Wagoneer
Haha! TY 4 the credit, I appreciate the ribbing too. I was typing what I was Thinking aloud as my mind wandered from GM>Ford>ChrySLER! when I remembered how much older that a 62 my Uncle’s had always looked to me… As the day went on I thought maybe it looked like some smaller independent make I had overlooked, but then I saw that familiar 300… I must try to figure out exactly what Uncle Sonny had. to me it seemed like the most basic Chrysler of 62… My personal favorite actually would be the Boomerang 1960 taillights.
