I’m pretty sure more than a few will guess this one with little trouble. Still, there’s enough heavy plastic wrapped around it that I think it isn’t 100% obvious.
Is that shot not enough? How about a second one?
Here, this should do it:
Now that I think some more about it, all that wrapping makes this one look like a cartoon car from Pixar’s Cars. All I need is to add some cartoon eyes on that windshield area.
The car’s true id? Tomorrow.
For those wondering, the covered car is here: Curbside Classic: A Child’s Daydream Machine, Now Hidden Under Covers (And A Curious Engine Swap)
Volvo p1800?
The first thing that came to mind was a second-generation Camaro.
1965 Lincoln Continental
Either a Chrysler from movie Christine or a Kate 50’s early 60’s caddy
Fins rule out anything modern, late 50s Buick
Fins and headlights look like a 1958 Oldsmobile.
I think Lenny’s on to something! As far as early ’70s to ’81 Camaro, the back third ends wayyyyy too high. Camaro & Firebird profiles angle downward from just behind the front seats, even when equipped with a sperler.
There’s clearly the outline of a fifties windshield, and that of a moderately upsloping fin starting well forward on the rear fender.
“I’m pretty sure more than a few will guess this one with little trouble” – Famous last words, the first five guesses are a Volvo, a Camaro, a Chrysler (or Cadillac), an Olds and a Buick… 🙂
GM’s in the lead with three entries and a hedge, a Mopar and then a Swede…
My guess is if it’s for sale, it might be Pellegrino’s next car.
Gosh, I thought the rear fins would quickly give it away. But I guess that’s what happens when one knows what’s under there…
Late 1950s American car is right.
The fins fooled me, Ive seen the post now
I don’t see any obvious clues, so I just have to go by the overall shape and proportions, things like windshield slope and decklid length. Looks like a late-’50s American sedan, possibly up to ’62. Has fins, but narrow, pointy fins like those on a ’60 Cadillac, more wide, flat-topped fins.
but *not* narrow pointy fins
Beats me. No clue.
I have no idea. Just want to say that storing a car out side is bad, we all know that. The tarps just trap the moisture that comes up from the ground. Makes it dark and cozy for mold and bugs. In the end it wrecks havoc with what ever is stored under it.
I think I have to agree with cyclopticgaze above.
My first impression was Eugene’s own “Death Mobile” from the Animal House movie.
So mark me down as another guess for the “Kennedy Lincoln”.
Late 50’s Cadillac
A 1959 Chevrolet Impala
Correct sir!
It appears to be heavily padded so it is very confusing. I think I see a heavy chrome trim on the top fender line which is what the early 60s Continentals and Thunderbirds had. Looks like a fender wheel arch is showing and I am thinking this is the rear of the car. Other than that, no clue.
’59 Edsel
’57 Bel Air?
I’ve never gotten one of these right.
I’d be happy to be in the ballpark.
Off by two years, but it is a Bel Air, from ’59.
1956 Cadillac
Rambler Rebel.
’58 Buick. Could be an Olds as well, but that’s already been taken.
We’ll see tomorrow!
My guess is 60 or 61 caddy. But that’s mostly the way the front end is tied down so it bulges that way and the fins are too short to be a 59. But I could be way off
Don’t ask me why but I keep thinking DeSoto.
I see a 58 DeSoto. How am I going to sleep tonight?
Figure it is some large american 50’s car, some indication of rear fins? maybe a ’58 something, with what could be the width of dual headlightss on each side?
Late “50’s/early “60’s”, mopar??
A model from 1958 to 1960 probably MOPAR or even OLDSMOBILE.
1956 Pontiac
1958-ish GM. But not a Corvette, Vauxhall or Opel. Does that narrow it down?
I got nothing either .
I can hardly wait to find out .

It’s already posted, it’s a 1959 Bel Air.
