Here’s wishing all of you in the CC community a Merry Christmas, or whatever holiday you may be celebrating.
The tempo is probably going to be slowing down some the next few weeks. This coming week we’ll be doing a Best of 2017. I will be gone on vacation for a couple of weeks starting on New Year’s Day, so the posting schedule may be a bit less consistent. But the show will go on, as it always seems to here at CC.
Treasure time with your loved ones, as I am doing here. It’s the greatest gift of all.
Paul and everyone, thanks for a daily respite from the storm.
Saw this out walking with the whole family last night. How very Southern California
Of course what made it even more SoCal (besides the weather) was what was behind us when I took it … an entire neighborhood of Griswold decorations. Visible from space and (locally) famous (Google Poway Candy Cane Lane). So … the perfect place for a decorated PTCruiser convertible and a retired London bus.
Merry Christmas Paul! (And everyone else.) We’re actually having a White Christmas up here, a real rarity here in the Seattle area. Enjoy your time off.
It turned out to be an amazingly warm and sunny day down here. We ate lunch on the back patio and just got back from a long hike. Mid-upper 50s.
Best wishes to all as we reflect on the year past.
A Studebaker advert, when “Peace On Earth” had particular meaning, Christmas 1945.
Echoing the thoughts from not-raining-yet England!
Thanks to Paul for CC in 2017 and see you in 2018.
A Happy (and White!) Christmas from The Middle West (with a bit of Aussie flair)!
*gasp!* You’re driving the Holden in this mess? Ed needs a beater!
Happy holidays to all from the black SUV/CUV capital of the known universe (aka North Central NJ, USA).
To the right of the single sedan (VW) on the right are three more black S/CUVs.
Residents of the homestead section of Basking Ridge line the streets with lumineres (paper bags with candles in them) on Christmas eve. It’s a nice old fashioned sight in this time of 20 foot tall blow-up Frosty snowmen.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Miami to all the Curbsiders (yes, I know it’s probably a bit cruel to post this Christmas morning webcam shot).
Merry Christmas everyone! New York is having its first white Christmas in years, and while I have to be out there shoveling, I’m going to enjoy it, because who knows when we’ll get the next one.
Merry Christmas from Massachusetts! ?
The “white Christmas” crowd was in luck this year in Michigan too. Of course, the media overhyped yesterday’s snowfall “WINTER STORM WARNING, AS MUCH AS 7 INCHES”. Looks like about half of that actually fell. Having grown up in the west Michigan lake effect belt, if the snow isn’t deep enough ot scrape the underside of the car, it is officially “nothing but a nuisance”.
Quick shot out the window of my home office.
Merry Christmas Paul & all the contributors who make my mornings more enjoyable and enlightening.
Hope we can have a meet & greet in the desert (Arizona) in the New Year!
Dave
Merry Christmas from decidedly un-snowed and warm Austria…
Merry Christmas from beautiful Southeast Wisconsin, the salt capitol of the Midwest!
Walking through the edge of the San FranciscoTenderloin yesterday.. heard this wonderful
low rumble behind me. Wasn’t able to get a good shot of this molten pink-gold
paint job.. but it sure lit up this grim neighborhood. It was commanding! No
Christmas theme in this image, but it filled up that sorrowful street with grandeur, mystery and wonder..
Paul Niedermeyer and I go back a long long way; who can forget forging through the deep snow
in the Corvair flat-top in… 1971? Happy New Year Everyone.
Great catch. And nice to hear from you again, Paul.
It was the winter of ’72-’73. I still don’t know how I managed to never get it stuck, considering all the places I took it that winter. The stupidest being on the Coralville Reservoir. https://www.curbsideclassic.com/auto-biography/auto-biography-part-13-1963-corvair-monza-the-tilt-a-vair/
That got me my first ticket, out on the ice.
Happy Holidays from SoCal. I found this in my archive from three years ago on Christmas Day. Always a good day to bring out the CC for a drive.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!
For a nice change, we have a white Christmas in Jefferson City, MO. Thankfully, it snowed yesterday.
It isn’t a lot, which is just fine. Here’s a snowy scene just taken out my back door.
A Merry Christmas to all the CC’ers, with a reprise of my favorite vintage Christmas automotive scene!
Merry Christmas to all Curbsiders. It is the most wonderful time of year, even when you have to dig your car out of snow in -27C.

Merry Christmas to all! This is the first year in my life where I haven’t lived in the upper Midwest, and the lack of snow and heat is jarring, to say the least. Luckily I’ve got my Family to share the season with, and I hope you all a very happy, merry holiday. Greetings from Tuscon, AZ:
This site is my happy corner of the Internet. It’s absolutely incredible that when so many sites revert to bad user behavior, this site remains so dedicated to keeping true to the subject at hand. It’s a tribute to the owner and the people who participate.
I get up early in the morning. So often this is the first site I visit to see the new morning post. Sometimes it’s so fresh that there are no comments to read so I keep coming back to see the opinions of others.
I’m glad this site exists. I’m glad the people who come here stay true to it’s intentions.
Happy Holidays and best wishes to all. Thank you Paul for this small corner of the Internet! All the best to you and yours in the New Year!
Thanks for the sweet words.
Best wishes all. Hoping for many more internet adventures in 2018 and maybe a real in person adventure too!
I don’t post much, but wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for all the effort and emotion invested into this site. The wealth of knowledge, experience, and colorful anecdotes compiled here is really second to none.
Happy holidays to all, and thank you!
Merry Christmas to everyone from Mississauga, ON! We had a white Christmas with up to 8″ of fresh snow by this morning.
Sorry for the late reply, I’ve just returned from helping to host a charitable Christmas event for the children from the low income families.
It’s a white Christmas in Pittsburgh too (just barely, not much snow at all by our usual standards) but it’s still nice to see, and the first one in a few years.
As has been said, kudos to Paul and all of the top-notch contributors and commentors that make CC the great site that it is.
Merry Christmas to all,
and to all a good drive
Merry Christmas to all! Nary a Curbside classic is stirring here in snowy and salty Michigan, so it’s always nice to see them on here, along with the great writing and cameraderie of all here!
Merry Christmas to all from here in Perry Hall Maryland, northeast of Baltimore and just east of Paul’s old stomping grounds of Towson, Maryland.
Thanks to all the contributors and commentators for makining this site the best on the internet. Always civil and thoughtful discussion here, and a place where we can learn so much about classic cars.
Enjoy your vacation Paul!
~ Rick
Not a huge deal but over the past several days I have received several hundred notifications from Curbside Classic; this after not receiving any for at least six months. Life moves in mysterious ways, and a happy Derby day to all.
