What a lovely photograph and thank you for sharing. What state was this photograph in taken by the way? Out here in Tualatin we have been having some lovely sunsets recently as well.
Well, it’s the “house cat”. I’ve written about it a little before. 1988 XJ-SC cabriolet, bought on eBay for $2500 or so seven years ago. We’ve just recently gone through the brakes and whatnot, and made it roadworthy.
Superb picture. I love taking sunsets as they can be so varied. Here, this one is the perfect balance between spectacle and not drawing too much attention from the subject.
Photographers call it the “magic hour” – the brief time just after sunrise and just before sunset. It makes for spectacular lighting that shows off colors and textures at their best, Of course it helps when you also have a pretty Jag adding some light of its own, and a photographer who adeptly combines the two.
I’ve worked with designers and photographers for much of my career, and being young or old doesn’t determine or limit the best creative talent. Though the most talented often do start early. 🙂
I’ve got about 25 years on the kid and I’m pretty sure I’ve never taken as good of a photo. Great job. Is this a field he’s thought about going into as he gets older?
After rereading my own comment, it may have come across as slightly patronizing, which I completely did not mean. To rephrase, no matter the age of the artist, it’s a damn nice piece.
Congratulations!
Great picture.
He might go on to publish a book on the XJ-S.
16? Wow! That is a great picture. He has a great eye for photography. Color me very impressed!
Just stellar. Worthy of a print ad.
+1!

NC…..my parents took a very similar sunset picture the same evening in SC, so it must have a been a good night for that sort of thing!
I have Jaguar magazines from the late 80’s and that’s pretty much the precise lighting they used with an XJS cover shot.
Your 16-year-old drives a Jaguar XJS?! I’m wordless, too!

That is a magazine-worthy picture. Great job!
